multimedia

Nowadays there are many people around the world using Multimedia which is integration of several forms of media. There are various kinds of multimedia such as text, graphics, audio and video. For instance, presenting the combination of video clip and audio combined in a presentation its considerable as multimedia presentation. There are many types of multimedia each type has purpose to give the information in many ways. For example, in the car we used to listen to the radio broadcasts and our imagination get start. Sometimes teachers are using photos to enhance understanding of students. Furthermore, video is a combination of movement with audio happens simultaneously and it has effective way to give the idea for the other people and they could understand it easily. We can classify multimedia into two types linear and non-linear in this essay we will talk more about it and we will know more about multimedia programs and some advantages and disadvantages of multimedia using.
Multimedia is many things rolled into one it’s used to mean the combination of multiple technologies like computer, electronic memory, and software, network of information transfer and display device TV and radio to present information with multiple formats presentation.  It is everything we see, hear, read, and touch in websites, video games, phone apps, retail kiosks and bank ATMs. These are all forms of multimedia and the list of uses grows daily. We are drawn into multimedia at every turn, whether like it or not. The media in multimedia comes in different forms: graphics, photography, text, audio (sound effects, music, voice over, and so on), video and animation. Today, the term multimedia is associated almost exclusively with computer and the components that make up a multimedia program are digital. The computer is becoming today an educational tools increasingly used for recent technological development now allow use varied mainly in terms of production, information and communication. Computer tools can work for active learning children in project, correspondence school, creating a website or school newspaper even be of essential assistance to some children considered to be in school failure, It also facilities communication between students from different country and culture. The uses of computer seems possible in every class any families, every house, all societies it promotes the development of individual autonomy.  At the same time, people began using computers for many home and office purposes. The components that make up a multimedia production can be used in various combinations and there are some media option like images, including graphics (lines, boxes, circles, rectangles, arrows, borders and so on), photographs, illustrations, diagrams, cartoons, color, text and typography, audio, including sound effects, music and voice.
There are two type of multimedia I would like to talk about it one form of multimedia is called linear it is like website or anything which can be presented especially when the presentation is in progress and we can modify it like TV show or cinema presentation. We called linear because it plays out in one continuous narrative sequence. Nonlinear is the second type of multimedia, it is like a content need from user to be active to edit information or chose from options. For instance, a computer game is nonlinear because we can edit or change many things in it. We called nonlinear because information is not laid out in a chronological manner, but with many potential directions. Both linear and nonlinear multimedia has their benefits and drawbacks.
The nature of human communication has always involved “multimedia” we hear, speak, write, draw, and make gestures, play music, and act out our thoughts and feelings from one to another. We have enjoyed multimedia presentations since our childhood through film, television, and, more recently, and digital videodisc. These have all involved analog media. What makes recent developments in multimedia new and exciting is that we can now deal with these various media in a digital format. The digital format allows manipulation, sharing, and merging of data in ways that analog cannot. For example, writers can incorporate digital images into a word processing document. They can record and edit sounds to link with images or text, permitting the data types to serve multiple purposes with a minimum of reworking. Users can program the computer to seek files randomly, to store these different files digitally, just as any computer file. They can edit this information, eliminating unnecessary parts, transforming them, or adding alternative data or special effects all without expensive postproduction. There are some examples of different kinds of multimedia programs such as; educational children’s spelling program for use in schools in conjunction with hand writing on the board or on paper. Furthermore, language learning programs to help prepare for travel. Moreover, handheld global positioning system (GPS) device for mapping routes while driving, biking or hiking.
There are a couple advantages and disadvantages to using multimedia in communication. First of all I would like to talk about some advantages it is very user friendly, it doesn’t take much energy out of the user, in the sense that you can sit and watch the presentation; you can read the text and hear the audio. In addition, it is multi sensorial it uses a lot of the user’s senses while making use of multimedia, for example hearing, seeing and talking. Furthermore, it develops the quality of presentation and let the audience pay attention. Also it could be used for educational aspect and for entertainment purpose. On the other hand, they are some point of disadvantages such as; it takes time to compile, even though it is flexible, it takes time to put original draft together. Moreover, too much makes it unpractical, large files like video and audio has an effect of the time it takes for your presentation to load. Adding too much can mean that you have to use a larger computer to store the files.
In conclusion, multimedia is one of the most important using all over the world. As you can see, there are a variety of options when designing for multimedia, ranging from entertainment to business, children to adult and home use to public kiosks. In my point of view, multimedia is entertaining as well as educational. It can improve over traditional audio video presentation so the audience will be more attentive to multimedia messages than traditional presentations done with slides or overhead transparencies.  Using multimedia is useful and enjoyable also it can change; improve everything in your life and it’s easy to use.

This table shows us the information society in 1999, 2000 (in million) , The first bar shows us the proportion of people using a personal computer in 1999 , and the second bar show us the proportion of people using the internet (%) in 1999.
The number of pcs in dec-1999 was the highest in USA 141million and the lowest was in Japan 36 million , the internet hosts (oct 2000) was the highest in USA 65.9 million but the lowest was in Japan with 4.5million , internet users (no .2000) was the highest USA 154 million and the lowest in Japan 39 million, and for mobiles phones in 1999the highest was the EU -15 and the lowest in Japan .
In figure 1 : the scandnavia countries and the Northland has the highest  proportion of people using a personal computer in 1999 and the lowest was in Greece 15% .
Figure 3 the scandnavia countries and the Northlands Holland have the highest proportion of people using the internet in 1999 , and the lowest was Greece with 5 %.
Finally the USA in the table was the highest in every thing except mobile phone and the lowest was Japan also in every thing . in figure 1 the Scandinavian countries and the Nethrlands Holland were the highest and the lowest was Greece in using personal computers .
This graph shows us the unemployment levels in the USA and the EEC between 1972 and 1981.
The unemployment level in USA men and women was the highest percentage in 1981 but the USA men was the lowest percentage in the same year EEC men had the lowest percentage in 1973, EEC men and women had the same percentage with USA men in 1972 and 1974 (also in 1976 and 1977) EEC and USA men had the same percentage in 1979 and 1980 , EEC and USA men and women had 6 million in 1978.
Finally unemployed level for USA men and women increased sharply between 1974 and 1975, the highest level of USA men and women was in 1981 , 9 million , but the lowest percentage was in 1973 , 1.5 million of EEC men .
The graph and table show us the number of fishermen in millions in 1970 , 1980 and 2000 for different regions ; also it shows the world's top ten exporters of fish in 2000 .
The number of the fishermen in 2000 was the highest in Asia with 25 millions ; the lowest number of fishermen was in Africa in 2000 with 4million . in 1980 the number of fishermen was highest in north America but the lowest number of fishermen was in South America , in 1970 the highest number of fishermen was in Europe with 14 million , but in the same year the lowest was in North America . However in the world top ten exporters of fish in 2000 , the first was Thailand in Asia ; the second was Norway from Europe and the last in the top ten was South Korea in Asia .
Finally , Asia the highest number of fishermen was in 2000 , but on the other hand the lowest was in Africa , However Thailand was the top ten exporter of fish ,and the tenth was South Korea in Asia .
the bar chart shows us the share of the Australian and British cinema markets in 2000 ,the line graph shows us cinema attendance in Britain and Australia from 1980 to 2000 .
The highest number of films that were shown in Britain and Australia was us films , 78% in Britain and 68% in Australia , however the smallest percentage of Australian films in Britain , zero percent , the smallest percentage of British films was in Australia , 4% .The other films in Britain was 3% but in Australia was more than Britain by 12% in one line chart the British people's attendance more than Australian people . the Britain attendance dropped in 1982 from 100 millions to 46 millions then it increased to108 million in 1986 , After that it's decreased to 60 million then it kept increasing until it reached 150 million in 2000 which was the highest attendance . In Australia the attendance was less than in Britain and decreased sharply in1982 then it increased to 40 million in 1984 and it kept increasing until it reached 85 million in 2000 and also it was the highest  attendance in Australia.
In conclusion US films had the highest percentage in both Britain and Australia . however Australian films in Britain had smallest percentage at zero % , also in Australia the British films had smallest percentage at 490 on the other hand highest attendance in Britain was in 2000 ,146 millions , however in Australia the highest attendance was in 2000 85million .
